
Mr. Brown joined Great Rock in 2026 as Chief Risk Officer leading both the Underwriting and Portfolio Management teams.
Andy has over 20 years of senior-level experience in private credit and middle market lending. Prior to joining the firm, he served as a Managing Director at Hercules Capital (NYSE: HTGC), a $6B publicly traded venture debt platform where he spent five years overseeing the underwriting and portfolio management teams. Earlier, he helped launch a PE-backed private credit start-up, Encina Equipment Finance, where he managed credit and risk operations for three years.
Andy began his banking career at GE Capital, where he spent over 16 years in risk management roles of increasing responsibility. His tenure included serving as General Manager to run GE Capital’s $2.5B Corporate Lending business in Australia and culminating in his appointment as global Chief Credit Officer for GE’s Capital Solutions business. Andy holds a B.A. in Mathematics from Northwestern University and his M.B.A. in Finance and Strategy from the Kellogg School of Management.
Andy resides in Fairfield, CT with his wife, two daughters and dogs. A former Peace Corps volunteer, 4x Ironman triathlete, and recovering high school math teacher, Andy and his family primarily speak Spanish at home.
